29 August, 2007, 7:00AM the plain to Amsterdam was taking off from Sofia Airport. After a few years of hard studying in high school and an amazing summer holiday, I had to say bye to my friends and my family. I was going to pursue my dreams – to study, to travel, to meet people and cultures.
2 days later I was standing in front of the building of Arnhem Business School and I just said to myself “wow!”. I did not realize back then, but my dreams were coming true – I was a student of a prestigious university in the Netherlands. I remember that day so clearly.. There were people from all over the world united by one objective – to be successful professionals one day. It was the most strange and at the same time the most incredible feeling ever!
As the first year passed by I was seeing myself changing – growing up and becoming more responsible. Meanwhile, I met some of the most amazing people in my life who are still around me even today. It was indeed one amazing year…
Then the second year started and it was very nice to see most of the people again. However, the things were not the same..they were even better! I started travelling more around Holland, Germany and Belgium. It was amazing to visit Brussels, Cologne, Munich, Dusseldorf, Maastricht, The Hague, Amsterdam, and many more cities. I started realizing that being a student of Arnhem Business School gave me more opportunities than I thought. I am a person who loves travelling and ABS gave me the chance to explore the world and experience things that I was not able to before. I believe this was because I gained more knowledge than I thought. But it was not only the theories from the books, it was the international experience.
So after 2 amazing years at ABS I had to say bye to my friends again. Everybody was leaving the country for the study abroad semester and internship. We all moved in different directions around the world – USA, UK, China, France, South Korea, New Zealand, Australia, Italy, Spain, Canada, Germany, Ireland, South Africa etc. I have chosen to go for a semester abroad to UK where I had wonderful time.
January, 2010 I came back from UK and started an internship in Amsterdam. It was time to show what I have learned in the past few years. In June when I finished with it successfully, I decided to take a second one during the summer instead of having my holiday. At the end it turned out to be one of the best summers I have ever had. It was definitely the right choice to make!
Now after more than 3 years spent at Arnhem Business School and around the world, I am looking at myself and I see a better person – the one I always wanted to be! And I am still chasing my dreams…
